Implementing UW protocols at our facility has provided many advantages for our staff and patients.
Having these protocols, along with our GE scanners, allows my staff to confidently choose protocols for each patient that will produce much higher quality images with lower radiation doses than we could offer in the past. We were also afforded a learning and growing experience in comparing these protocols with what we were currently using. As a team with our GE applications specialists, we were able to identify areas in our practices that we could slightly alter for better and more ideal imaging. We are proud to tell our patients, staff, and community about what we can offer them with our new equipment and UW CT imaging protocols.

In December 2023, a GE VCT 64-slice CT system was installed in our clinic. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to come across The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s webpage for the UW/GE CT Protocol Partnership. This webpage contains all the exceptional work that the University has done in collaboration with GE regarding the creation of the protocols for this system.
The procedure of loading the protocols onto our system took some time, but it really paid off!
The protocols are working great, and the results are more than satisfactory.
A special ‘Thank You’ to Professor Myron Pozniak for providing me with any information I requested while uploading the protocols. And ‘Thank You’ to all the personnel at UW-Madison/GE Protocol Partnership for showing dedication and good will to help in any way they can.
Anyone who has a similar GE CT system should definitely run these well-built protocols.
